| North
Park Nights is a community event
occurring on the 3rd Saturday of every month and
organized by a collective of North Park
businesses dedicated to promoting arts, culture and business
in the neighborhood.
North Park Nights Kicks off with Controversial
Art.
North Park Nights (NPN) is the pulling together of North Park
businesses to continue promoting
arts and culture as the foundation of its unique community.
The first North Park Nights event of
2009 begins March 21, 2009 at 6pm with "Its
Complicated", a group showing featuring controversial themed
artwork and events in various businesses and galleries.
Following monthly events include "Art at the Core" a
look at community art on
June 20th, and "Green Scene"
for environmental awareness on
Sept 19.
North Park Nights includes select businesses from the 805 freeway,
and runs west along University to 28th Street. Many contributing
businesses are also located along 30th Street from Polk on
the north side, to Upas Street on the south end. Live music performances
featured in local bars including Bar Pink, U-31, and The Office,
among others.
NPN is a community based project supported in part by The San
Diego Art Institute, a non-profit
organization dedicated to building
arts and culture in San Diego. |
